You can guarantee two things when you hold an outdoor event in Leicestershire in March; rain and lots of people.
The one thing I love most about the people in Leicestershire is their resilience and determination not to let the weather put off plans to help a good cause.
Thankfully on Saturday 26th March (Easter Saturday to us) we held a fundraiser for local charity Menphy’s. Menphy’s are Caring for Leicester and Leicestershire children and young people with disabilities and supporting their families.
The idea of holding an Easter egg hunt in the Old Post Office Tea Room garden was the idea of our director Barry Randall and Menphy’s marketing manager Tracey Morris. The Tea Room is opposite Bradgate Park and has a fantastic outdoor seating area complete with archways, raised beds, and an artificial lawn area, great for family pets’ and cyclists to unwind and enjoy a coffee or some of the lovely food on the menu.
The garden was designed and built by Leicestershire Garden Design Company and was celebrating being open for one year.
During the day the children enjoyed finding Easter eggs hidden in the gardens, face painting, a raffle and lots of other fun activities.
We’d like to thank the three business owners Lea Moulds at Digital Magic Media, Clare Sommerfeld at Clare Creative, and Geoff Cartwright at Streamline Press for all their help in making this event work.
You made the day a magical one for the children and the charity.
